dear all,
barely had i created a shortcut on task bar to shut down internet in ubuntu dapper when i thought of tinkering with resolution. changed it from default to something else. now when i boot to ubuntu i get a grey screen. no visuals nothing. is there anyway i can reverse the changes without a new install?

In your /etc/X11 folder which has the X config file, there will be a file_old or something like that which is a copy of your settings before you tinkered with them. Look for that backup file and rename it to the existing one. Keep an extra copy though.
