We need to stop this thread RIGHT NOW. This is not the right forum to whine/complain about progress made by india/china/japan/africa/foobar, reservations, airtel, world war etc.
Before starting another [OT] thread, please remember we are a GLUG mailing list.

Are the moderators on leave? How do these posts get past moderation?

What are you talking about? FYI, this message was posted by one of the list moderators only.

I was referring to the post about Indian progress-how did it get past moderators. NOT ABOUT THE MAIL FROM linuxers admin.

Dinesh, This mailing list is not moderated at all and everyone is allowed to post their views (within the limits of list guidelines approved by list members). However, if the list member is newly registered, Mailman keeps him/her on moderation initially. If the list poster shows proper mailing list etiquette, e.g. trimming the mail, not top posting etc, then he/she is removed frmo moderation immediately. Hope that helps.

This list is mostly unmoderated (newcomers are moderated for a while).
I started this thread in response to Devdas's email which had fudged up the subject line (hence the changed subject). I'll take care in future to keep emails relevant to GNU/Linux/FOSS/Computers.
Lets stop this thread here now. There's no point continuing.
