Hello All,
I have to give a quotation to someone for a linux system. Everything else is compatible. I would like to know which scanner is compatible with lunux ( mostly Ubuntu ). I have 2 choices Canon Lide 25 or HP 2400. Has anyone tried anyone of these with linux and if so please give some details of hardware, OS and version. Any other linux compatible scanner anyone is using?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

My HP Deskjet F380 worked out of the box with the previous and current version (7.04) of Kubuntu . I don't remember whether it worked directly or not on Debian Etch, but, it does work perfectly.

Hey I did not know about this. I have supplied F 380 to some clients, I will try out the live cds. Thanks a lot. What software do you use for scanning?
Does anyone have any inputs on standalone scanners?

I'm using Canon Lide 25. Works flawlessly with Xsane.

Yes. It's got a USB plug so just connected it, started XSane and started scanning. This was on Fedora Core 6.
