I've got news that Internet access via cable modem is arriving in my locality. I am wondering whether there's support for it on Linux. Are there drivers available for the hardware (what kind of hardware?).
I am using Hughes isdn which is connected to my linux proxy In2cablenet cable connection is available in the suburbs?? Santacruz(W)?? will i be able to configure it on my linux server if yes tha how is it possible.

Ok now regarding your query, Cable modem doesnt need a driver (if you not planning to use it over USB ..) most of the time its connected via straight UTP cable on to your Ethernet card.
So have that things checked with your provider thats it, and then you can refer to one of those Transparent Proxy HOWTO using squid + iptables and you can share your internet connection.

You will have to ask the vendor whether his authentication software has a linux port. Also use an imaginative subject line next time you post. Most people who post on this group have a problem and needs help. How do i refer to your query when I would want to answer it. This mail would have been better titled, something like "Linux support for Hughes ISDN". Follow this guideline and it will be easier to get answers on this list.
