dear friends , this is my very first e-mail to our linux groups and my name is MANOJ BOHARA. i am an bombay university student and i am completing my post-graduation in IT. in the second semester of our course we are supposed to make projects.i am interested in making a device driver for internal modems but i do not know whether drivers for internal modems are already made for linux. i use debian linux.also does linux supports internal modems .can i get source codes of any modem drivers for linux . if please anybody can help me i will be highly obliged .

Hi Manoj,
Of course there are Linux drivers available for internal modems and even winmodems. Just got to http://www.linmodems.org/ to get more details and source code.
A few months back I brought a windmodem- PCTEL because it was so cheap - Rs 450. I got the linux driver and source code on the cd itself.
When you need some information the old rule was - READ THE MANUAL. Now the rule has been change to - SEARCH THE INTERNET!! Just do it.
