I'd like to know about how can I mirror an entire website and store it on a local hard drive (for *nix OS), which can be accessed later on... Is there any specific software for this purpose?

There's a software made for exactly that, it runs on windows as well as *nix and of course, is open source. The address is www.httrack.com
