<snip> To remove a file whose name starts with a -, for example -foo, use one of these commands:
rm -- -foo

However, if in case you get trapped in a shell and you face such a kind of problem, and its a kind of urgent, then you can use the utility "midnight commander" to navigate through the filesystem.
$mc
it has a nice interface, and can perform all the file operations.

Oh yes, we should decide it, as its already friday now. Even last month's GLUG meet was not held i think... MET should be fine, as its in the center of the city and easily accessible.

Mailman converts it into plaintext after stripping all the html.

you do not consider 45 (repeated) lines as unnecessary ?

Nope. The mailing list emails go to all. The people who follow a particular thread do not need a single email to get all details when the same have been posted in other email(s). For people who jump in on a thread, well, they should go through the other emails from the list rather than hope to get all in one email. Please study usenet posting rules and also our GLUG rules.

Nice suggesstion Harsh but there is a major problem. It is very easy to say that someone will speak on something. Finally on the day of the meeting most of the speakers usually vanish. Finally Either Dr. Nagarjuna or Prof. Shah come to the resuce and speak about general topics. Few people who come are very bored listening to the same topics (actually no topics). Get me people who will speak and who can do something better than vanishing. List down the topics one wants to listen and then let someone pickup a topic from there and speak on that.
hi guys,
still not clear with when and where are we meeting... i've just joined the group and am very excited abt this meeting... appreciate if someone can clear me with wat this meeting is abt and when and where will it be held...

Hi rajesh, We're gaining momentum towards meeting this weekend. Unofficially we meet every second sunday of month to share ideas. Keep in touch with happenings in this mailing list as people decide when and where.

Hi all,
Yep, I agree! I am an METian and I promise you that every meet in MET shall be met with an enthusiastic audience. I was there last time. (I was sitting on the last chair : the guy with not so much hair.)
Plus two questions that still hamper me: 1) I have a an HP BRIO BA 600 machine. My USB modem UM9800 V.90 USB Modem came along with it. The manufacturer is AZT. Can anyone please tell me how to configure it on Red Hat 9.0. I have tried to configure it using the "adding a new modem" utility, but to no avail.
2)I have a Dlink DFE-538TX 10/100 LAN card as I have cablenet at home. How to configure it on Red Hat 9.0?
Regards, Nimish V. Goray.

If I may ask, why are we so hung up on "speakers" and "topics" ? Can there be no friendly "get-together" of like minded people ? Does there have to be some kind of kinky pseudo class room atmosphere ? I am sure most of us are not interested in sitting for class.
Hi The first lesson in Linux is that if you have any queries regarding a command, type the command
man <command>
on the konsole. This will invoke the manual page of that command with its various options. Most of the time, that should be sufficient else there is google or this group. :-)
