Required an experienced professional for the post of an IT Manager for a growing, Italy based software company.

We are a growing software company head quartered in Rome, Italy with key management staff in Bonn, Germany and Seattle, USA and a major development facility in Pune, India. We work primarily of Free, Libre and Open Source (FLOS) Technologies like Zope, Plone for our development and others for our communication needs.

We are on the lookout for an able and proactive professional for maintaining our entire IT infrastructure both at Rome as well as at Pune. The position would be based out of Pune. An ideal candidate for the post should have adequate experience in FLOS technologies and all distributions of GNU/Linux, primarily Debian and RedHat. Candidates with GNU/Linux related certifications would be preferred.

The responsibilities would include

- Maintaining a heterogeneous (Windows + GNU/Linux) LAN using technologies like Samba, Cygwin, and VNC etc. - Remote Administration of Servers & network in Rome - Setting up and maintenance of security infrastructure like Linux based firewalls etc. - Management of Mail Servers, Web Servers and other public servers - Designing and implementing and effective backup strategy. - Installation and on going administration of version control mechanism at both locations with synchronization of code and data - Setting up and maintenance of VoIP infrastructure like Skype and other technologies for smooth voice communication between Rome and Pune - Wiki for intranet communication - Experimenting with other technologies like WebEx, Asterisk etc. - Setting up of IRC and other instant messengers - Recommending and procuring required communications infrastructure at both locations.
