Hi All
I had prefectly running Ubuntu on my cyrix system. Just recently I upgraded my CPU & MOBO to AMD and tried using existing HDD. But was not able to start Ubuntu properly. Can anybody guide me on how to reconfigure Ubuntu for my new CPU & MOBO.
Thanks.

Dude, you need to reinstall your OS if you change crucial hardware like the CPU and Mobo. The OS installation takes place taking your current hardware in picture. -- Regards, Sanket Medhi, sanketmedhi@gmail.com

I'm not sure, but maybe recompiling the kernel, say by booting off a live cd and chrooting, to change the processor model and other hardware drivers and then recompiling the external modules could work. After all, if you're using an rpm or deb based, in short binart, distro, the software is compiled on a different system anyways. I guess its the kernel that matters.
