i looked up buylinuxdvd.com but they do not carry dapper drake ubuntu 6.01.
I am looking for both the desktop and server version. If anyone can spare copies in exchange for blanks, (CDs), i'd appreciate it.

Mail them [ie BuyLinuxDVD.com] They have x86 CD of Dapper as per latest news posted on Google Group.

yes there is a seperate cd for server, the desktop cd is a live cd which can be installed from the live booted system like knoppix.

The server edition is more streamlined and smaller than the desktop edition. It also has a quick LAMP option. Its pretty neat. You can order the CDs using http://shipit.ubuntu.com and its free
