AFAIK, redhat does not have a /boot/grub/grub.conf, suse has it. Redhat has the configuration in /etc/grub.conf.
I have it. May be created by me during R & D.
- OP is on SuSE 9.1, which is kernel 2.6.
Corrected Entry is title SuSe Linux root (hd0,6) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.4-52-default ro root=LABEL=/ initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.4-52=default
- SuSE does not give LABEL to paritions, so root=LABEL=/ will not work.
I have root=LABEL=/ and it is working. I have exactly similar entry as above in /etc/grub.conf How it is working ??
