This depends on your requirements. If you want the default mail server which the OS will provide you, then postfix makes a good choice. If you dont mind lot of configurations and setup then qmail is also a good solution. Basically there are many parameters you should consider before selecting a mail server.

postfix is the most user friendly

It really nice that you are using Linux for your professional or not so professional usage. The flexibility offered by Linux and GNU based systems is unbeatable
Often freedom, free, choice etc are used to signify that flexibility.
With this flexibility however comes a major issue of personal taste.
A question like with flavour/distro or which editor or mail delivery agent often ends up being a debate about "my piece of field produces better roses than yours".
I would rather recommend you to go through some of the nice articles written by informed people addressing exactly the issues that concern you, that is making a choice based to certain critireon or requirement.

In case, you face a problem, do shoot a mail on this list.

hi!! for redhat linux you can use sendmail or postfix as mail server but postfix is relatively easy. there is a lot of matter on net related mail server usage and configuration you just need to search and few good links are:- 1. www.yolinux.com (its a big portal for linux related things) 2. www.tldp.org (you can get all Howto's here)
and for specific help if required then mail.
