How can I see, how many machines are connected in my network of linux? i.e. Is there any Network Neighborhood alike tool available thru which I can see all the machines of network

smbstatus . I think that does the trick in console mode. Not sure if there is X based tool to give you the same info.

You can use LinNeighborhood for this you have to do some configuration for it and thats it you can find it source at http://freshmeat.net/projects/linneighborhood/
