Are you sure it was GNOWSIS and not GNOWSYS ?

Gnowsis is simply a semantic desktop, GNOWSYS is/aims to be a complete semantic computing environment and knowledge management system. It's Desktop is called the Gnowser and is currently under development.

GNOWSYS is being developed at HBCSE, TIFR and the master mind behind it is Nagarjun G.
