after a long long time my modem manufacturer conexant was successful in relesing driver form my modem i.e. hcf. and after 2 years of me buying the computer i was able to connect to the net thru rh-linux. currently i am using distribution rh-7.3. the problem rt. now i am facing is that yahoo messenger for linux when i try to connect just shows status connecting and never actually connects, it shows the freinds list also but none are shown online as i do not get my status as connected. can any of ya help???

you are using an old version of yahoo messenger. better if you get something like everybuddy or gaim that supports many different protocols including yahoo messenger.
in fact, the current beta version of everybuddy supports features that even the official yahoo client does not support.
