I guess after this i lose my chance of sending my resume across but thats a pretty cocky response to some pretty straightforward questions.
i mean geez, who talks like this. "If you deserve to know". but then again, you said you represent one of the largest linux based companies.. i guess you intentionally left out the word "professional". Atleast you are being honest.
Ignorance is Strength. What you don't know cannot hurt you.

Please quote properly. Some of us are quite choosy about which companies we even bother to send resumes to. And it isn't the bad ones that are picky like that.

Nah. I know quite a few self driven people. They happen to be self-driven and enthusiatic about code they hack on and release as FOSS.

I recommend putting out the name of the firm and a URL if you want decent resumes.

I am extremely sorry if I sounded rash/unprofessional. Please accept my apologies. My intention was not to sound like that, *trust me*. Some Explanations: 1. The reason why I am not letting out the name of the company is because I dont want people who aren't sure whether they need a change applying to us. If you are happy with what your doing, why look for a change? . If your not completely happy/satisfied with what your doing, you can come along have a chat with us, see what we do, if you appreciate that, join us. Please let me know if this sounds fair. (Abhishek, we are not the largest yet. We've got people who dream big and want to make this big.)
2. We had posted a requirement with all the details once, only to receive 10000 odd resumes 99% of which were of absolutely no use to us. Maybe I am being lazy here, but I would prefer staying put on it.
Gishu, my apologies to you if I hurt your sentiments.
Thanks, Chirag R.

This first bit is a load of condescending bull. No. You are not hiring people because they are happy/unhappy with current position. You are hiring them because you want them, they may want you. they may be perfectly happy with the current job. with the perfect pay. you just happen to double their pay. or maybe you got a great receptionist. or just because he/she loves your smooth talking. which they did not know about till they met you. Happiness cannot be gauged in absolute terms.

My best wishes are with you. One way to become big would be to let others know too.

*trust me*. that is part of the game. why should it not happen to you when it happens to some of the biggest companies in the world. and then some small ones too? It's part of the drill.
Gishu, my apologies to you if I hurt your sentiments.
Next time if you wish to repost something like this, send me a mail offlists, and the least I could do for you is to make it sound inviting.

Uh...its a double edged sword that you have decided to wield. By keeping some very crucial points a secret you are luring those with worthless resumes and the curious. While those who are the ones with good resumes will stay away. Why? Simply because they know that you aren't Redhat / Novell / Google who is hiring.

Yeah like list rules and toppost and subject line and rtfm. " I " thought that linux users were cool geeks. They are like a bunch of old grumps. Who would want to be on such a list right?
