List,
I have created a How-to on configuring Kate to compile and/or run C, C++ and Java programs.
The URL is
http://db.glug-bom.org/wiki/index.php/Compile_C_CPP_and_Java_programs_using_...
BASH scripting is used here and if there are users on the list who use a different shell and can add commands for (compartively popular) shells other than BASH, please feel free to do so.
Explanations for the script are provided at the end of the document. They may not be complete and /may/ require corrections. If you locate any errors, please correct them.
If one could put up a simple explanation of parameter expansion (PE) (the list archive has it) with respect to the script used, please do so. I'll be adding details about PE soon.
(Wonder, if this could get into KDE docs of Kate as well, Docbook programmers around? ;) /Yes, too much !))

Easiest would be to send in patches or contact the doc maintainer for Kate and tell him about this. Ask him if it can be included in the Kate docs.
Cool work, cheers!

I haven't contacted the developers (docs) yet. I'll email them and let you (/list) know about this. Thanks for the offer.
