Dear Friends, I m having Conexant 56 Soft Enumerator PCI Modem, but I m not having its drivers of Linux and don't know how to configure this Modem. It has created great problem to me. When I installed RH Linux 7.1 @ my friends place he is also having SM56 PCI Modem of Motorola make. I found that in Linux, Internal Modems are making great problems for Linuxers. So, Friends any one of u send me the Drivers as an attachment and also send me the Step by Step Installation procedure for those drivers. Look in www.linmodems.org There are links to Conexant drivers. I tried to install them in my machine but did not manage. If you do it, please send me a mail (perhaps outside the list)

The drivers will not work on 2.4 kernels (used in RH7.1). There are two types of Conexant winmodems HSF an HCF. Which type do you have. Check ot the device numbers on the board. And mail them. I am in the process of writing code for 33.6k modem chipsets. If feasible I will try to include the winmodem chips.
