I dunno if the scientists who developed nukes or researched electronics had any "guides" to show them the way. Books, research papers etc... are the way for a true researcher to go... Newton didn't complain, so why should we? :P

I feel, in order to learn what already exists, any route is OK as long as it suits the learner. We need more work on doing what has never been done before. Only then we will become pioneers.
