A Linux Sysadmin/Netadmin workshop is planned for the week of 16/Sep/2013.
The workshop will cover:
- The FOSS model, various open source licenses - File Hierarchy - Command line utilities general. - System Admin, Network Admin. - Shell scripting basics - the ability to read and follow system scripts. - Setup/Configuration of basic services like DNS, FTP, DHCP ... - Expose the individual to multiple Linux distributions [a]
The duration of the workshop will be approx. 40 hours of contact time + more with individual assignments.
Attendees will meet 3 times a week for 3 hours each (90 min. lecture + 90 min. hands on exercise) in the evening hours (18:00 to 21:00).
Our USP 1. Small class size - no more than 10 attendees per session. 2. training philosophy -- "Make New Mistakes and Learn from them" Thus the more effort the attendee puts in, the more s/he learns :) 3. Each attendee get his/her own system (guaranteed) to practice the hands on exercises. 4. Goal is to prepare the attendee to handle real life scenario. 5. We have prepared our own training material based up on our experience over the last several years. 6. The workshop is conducted by instructors who have at least 10+ years of Linux System/Network Administration.

[a] Exposure to multiple popular Linux distributions, like CentOS (RHEL), Debian (Ubuntu), openSUSE (Novell SuSE) will prepare attendees to handle more than what the current commercial certification programs offer.
