Hello folks,
As you all might know, the Mozilla community released Firefox 3.5 a few days ago. The new browser incorporates a lot of features of the HTML 5 specification, and we consider it a leap forward for the web.
To celebrate the release, demo new features in Firefox 3.5, and discuss issues of the Open Web and standards, we are organizing an event on this Sunday, July 19th, at National College, Bandra(W) in Mumbai.
The main event will be held from 3-6PM at National College. We are actively looking for people to conduct sessions related to Firefox 3.5, HTML 5, or the Open Web. Please feel free to come up with a session and add it to http://mozcamp.in/mumbai/wiki/index.php/MCM_Sessions .
We hope to follow-up the sessions with a more informal yet focussed hack-session cum party at the CAMP Studio (close to National College).
To add some fun, there will be MozHunt, Mumbai Edition. Do check our wiki for details: http://mozcamp.in/mumbai
To RSVP attendance, please add your name on the Registration page: http://mozcamp.in/mumbai/wiki/index.php/MCM_Register
About the organisers:
CAMP (http://camputer.org) has been working on a video archive project called pad.ma (http://pad.ma) that has been one of the first websites to use the <video /> tag and has been part of the process of making the idea of open video a reality. Pad.ma is proud to be featured on the Mozilla demo pages for Firefox 3.5: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox3.5/Demos#Audio_and_Video
Aamod Nerurkar has been a Mozilla CampusRep for 2 years.

Help us spread the word about MozCamp Mumbai. How about college students put up a notice on their college notice board about the mozcamp? If college authorities deny that, just tell your friends to show up..

Err.. It's clashing with this one: http://www.cgtantra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17210
Same venue, same time. :(
I will go the CG Tantra one anyway. Could have attended both if they didn't clash.

Maybe you can attend both since they are same venue :-)
The Firefox event shall happen in the National College Conference Hall. My guess is the CG event is happening in the auditorium or something like this. Might not be bad - if one gets boring, go to the other :-)
Anyway - all the best, Sanjay

That sure sounds like a good option. :) However, I am pretty sure I would have loved to attend both because chances of either getting boring are slim. :)
Hope it turns out to be great event. Would love to go through the minutes of the event and presentation slides, if any. Please do post those online if possible.
Anyway - all the best, Sanjay
Thanks and regards Kamal

Hope to have some videos up soon after the event. However, it will be all in open video formats so you will need firefox 3.5 to view them. j/k. Too bad you can't make it.
We're still looking for more sessions and people to register, btw - if you can't make it, please do tell friends / colleagues. http://mozcamp.in/mumbai
Thanks, Sanjay B
