Hi,
In context of a couple of mails I sent earlier this week, including the one about GNOME contributions by a certain distro, I thought yesterday's blog post by Mark Shuttleworth is interesting. More interesting are the responses he gets:

This of course, was in response to GergDeK's(*) post:
http://gregdekspeaks.wordpress.com/2010/07/29/red-hat-16-canonical-1/
Of course, having to defend oneself by words rather than work in meritocracy based FOSS is ...ahem ...sad. Read all the comments to get a fair idea.
cheers, - steve
(*) incidentally, calling people like GregDek, who just point out uncomfortable facts, 'The Gregs' is not considered as generalization by spaceman.

I read the editor's note on Linux Today [0], and it is spot on.

I was always proud of the Ubuntu Community for being 'relentlessly positive' and the Mark's response has given me one more reason to be proud of it.
