Hello e'body,
Firstly, I'd like to thank u all for the support u gave for my previous querries...
The Problem is,
we successfully installed RedHat 2.1 Advanced server with GUI on my box. It was running properly. we were installing Oracle 9i... and after that installation we rebooted the system. Now, the system boots in command mode only.
I tried "startx"...failed. I tried configuring with "setup" , it tests the resolution and stuff successfully(i'll be able to see the GUI while it probes), didnt work out... again startx fails after reboot.
please tell me how to proceed..
Thanks & Regards, Aswin Bhupalam

check out whether the service XFS is working if not /etc/init.d/xfs start before giving startx also check whether your default runlevel has changed in /etc/inittab it probably has change it to 5
