I have a RH 6.2 setup, net sharing enabled. Hence, my collegues have
easily
access to the net.
Is it possible to monitor the activities on my server, for any traffic moving in and out of my server? Can i monitor and block some of the
mails,
frm domains like yahoo, hotmail, moving thru my server?

Yes. tcpdump, mail rules, ipchains rules.
Which SMTP server are you using?

Not interesting at all - pretty common and well known.
MDeferred: 450 root@linus.iacc.org: Sender address rejected: Domain

He's doing something which is not usually done ... sending mail as root. Likely using /bin/mail or similar which doesn't set the envelope sender.
Tell him to see http://www.hserus.net/sendmail.html - and not to send
mails
as root (or use root for other than admin work)
This one - viorelungur@yahoo.com - i have no idea. Is this what his root

aliased to in /etc/aliases? Go to /etc and /etc/mail and fgrep for viorelungur ... maybe his box has been r00t3d (can happen, even on
dialups)

Ok, found the solution. The Adaptec AIC7xxx SCSI bus timeout on 440GX motherboards was a known bug and it has been patched. The boot image of redhat7.1 has been fixed. You can find them here -

Oops!! Forgot to mention one thing. You need to boot with the apic command line option. i.e. boot: linux apic
And if you have an SMP machine, the smp kernel is not installed by default. Either recompile it or select the precompiled SMP kernel package from the package list during installation.
