Hello All,
Here are some useful softwares you can use.
1. http://linux.simple.be/tools/sbm The Smart Boot Manager is a floppy image that can be burned into a floppy to make it a universal boot utility. I discovered it accidentally in the Xbuntu 6.10 CD ( smb.bin ) when trying to run it on an old Celeron 300, 64 MB RAM machine that had a CD ROM but could not boot it due to the old BIOS. The beauty of this utility is that it lists everything that is bootable, including all HDD partitions and you simply select the required device and hit enter. It eliminates the need for dedicated boot floppies for every distro CD. It was usefull in installing Etch-Xfce on that machine.
2. http://www.blogbridge.com/ This is an open source RSS reader that can be installed in your system so you don't need to let third party reader web sites know what you are reading. Simply download the tar.gz package and run it directly. Do your own tweaking.

I use liferea (http://liferea.sourceforge.net/ also available in Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 repositories) and find it good enough for my requirements. Apparently blogbridge is java based :-( is there someone here who has used both and can comment on which is better?
