hi can somebody guide me on this situation. have a netwrok which will be used for internet purposes like ones in the netcafe(setting the gateway n stuff). what i wanna know is that if the machine having the modem is running windows, can i run Linux on my machine and still get access to the net thru the server?? how to set the gateway in linux?? Yes .. if u talking bout linux as workstation machine then u can make routes 2 default gw by following command
route add default gw gwserverip
if u talking the other way round as in u want 2 make linux machine as g/w then i guess u get some masquerading + transparent proxy scripts to let ppl access thru ur machine ...
search google for Transparent Proxy Howto ..
