M$ has only fooled few people. It's only that thoose who have been conned do not know that have been conned.
A strategy like this is very difficult/impossible due to the architectural differences between windows and linux.
BTW do you think that Bill Gate's/M$'s ego will let him do that? or is money more important than the ego??
There have been some attempts to bridge the gap between the applications(eg Lindows.com which runs both M$ and linux apps)

no offense to anyone but the fact is that our favorite rival has been trying dead hard to deliver killer apps. its not their mistake if the hardware and programmers are more smarter than its programs.
also promoting its products is the first duty of any company. it has to adopt appropriate means to do so and they are doing it very well and i dont see anything wrong abt that.
we if have a better solution let us get it across but no point decrying abt anyones policy or motives. they are able to deliver excellent office and desktop solutions whats wrong with that and best part is you get blue wallpapers and screen savers free. let us get linux still better at desktop and gui ( i dont mean quality as in tech specs i mean ability to use it and cryptic msgs)
