Dear All,
I am planning to take a broadband connection from MTNL Mumbai. But the initial CPE charges that they take seem to be quite high. I read the mails which discussed about the pros & cons of MTNL broadband. Since I am from Delhi, and MTNL has got a good reputation out there, I am going with it.
I plan to buy a wireless modem/router of my own before booking the connection. Can you guys suggest some good make/model# of wireless modem/router that work smoothly with both linux and mtnl?
Also, I am new in Mumbai, and don't have any idea on the popular places to look out for computer hardware.
Thanks
Sahil Dave

If I remember correctly. Once Rony had pointed out that if you buy your own modem these MTNL people start blaming it even if the fault is at their end. So, you will have to take that extra step to prove that it's not so.
Linksys WAG series is one of the suggested ones.

Best place to look for hardware in Mumbai is Lamington Road.

I'm using Netgear DG834G wireless router/modem with my BSNL connection. Bought it a year from Lamington Road (shop called Desesne) for Rs. 3,000/- and it works very well.
