Syllabus, training material, sample questions can be found @ LPI's web site http://www.lpi.org/bs/certification.html.
Training material - self help hands on training. Install a couple of Linux Distro (one BSD style init and the other Sys V style init), get your hands wet with the config files. Take copious notes during the process. In the end you might be enough ammo to write a book yourself :)
