I'll carry Ubuntu Cds with me. Maybe you can bring a blank CD in exchange. Just drop in by Barista at John the Baptist Road, Bandra.

When is the meeting scheduled? whats on agenda? I'm just a LiGnux Desktop User with no knowledge of system Administration or more than Desktop usage, Instead of WinXP I use ubuntu, just that, Can I come?
I've many ubuntu CDs to distribute (with Live CDs) from "Ship it"
Revant
Sometime Today, RN cobbled together some glyphs to say:
When is the meeting scheduled? whats on agenda? I'm just a LiGnux
you must be the only person who still says LiGnux. Even RMS stopped saying that ages ago.

Beause of sata hardisk. Might be not supported by FC4. Possiblity of lots of hardware issues. Have you check the kernel booting option provided by FC4. I have google this problem, Lots of have this problem when they have high Desktop configuration pc like you. You should do one thing, google your last two line of your boting where you get this error. Will get solution.

LFY-june/july issue has provided dvd for FC4.
Thanks, Ajay..

I believe most recent distros boot from a 2.4 kernel by default during installation. 2.6 kernels have support for SATA.
You can choose to boot a 2.6 kernel on bootup by passing an argument to "boot:".
I used "linux26" when installing Debian Sarge 3.1r0a on HP 5500 systems with 80 GB SATA HDDs. Check with your distro boot options.

No Shakthi Fedora Core comes with 2.6 kernel so that could not be the problem. I too had faced similar problem with slackware but when I reinstalled it everything was fine. Hopefully there's a better solution. I googled around on it though I didn't find any relevant answers, IMO, but most results suggested problems with hardware so you might need to check if some of your hardware isn't supported by FC4.

FC3 does have support for SATA HDD. FC3 default kernel config has suport for SATA HDD. I don't think Fedora team will drop support for it in upgraded version.

Dear Ajay,
FC4's install kernel has a bug. It panics on certain intel chipsets. I too have 865 board with SATA hd. The trick is to type crap ( eg. aksjdklj ) on the "boot:" line or type "linux xfs" or pass any parameter to the kernel. It wont panic ;)
