hi, I found out recently that Ubuntu distro does not have setserial, pnpdump commands. I could install setserial later from the archives. the question is, which other alternative exists to configure the serial ports other than setserial. Similarly for pnpdump. any clues will be appreciated. btw: What is the status of the same in Debian GNU/Linux?

Sarge defintly has that and is installed by default. I use it all the time.
