Sending again since earlier post bounced back.
I am looking for some advice to help buy a new PC costing below Rs 20,000.
What do linuxers recommend - a sempron or celeron-based processor? Main purpose is to run Office apps, surfing the net using MTNL DSL/Cable, playing DVDs. Must offer excellent support for net telephony OS - Mandrake 10 Upgradeable to a TV tuner card, page-making/photo-editing software in the future. NO GAMING Preferably Samsung hardware.
Pl. help out with config. Anyone supplying hardware in Borivli/Dahisar West area with original warranty/guarantee cards on the list may also contact me.

i just bought a celeron 2.8, 256K RAM, sony crx320e combo dvd drive, 40 gb samsung hdd - all runs ok with mandrake 10 (although the libs on mandrake 10 are a bit out of date - try mandrake10.1
page-making/photo-editing software in the future.
scribus for page making, inkscape for vector graphics, gimp for photoediting. The first two need upgraded libs as the libs that come with mandrake10 are not recent enough
