The module support is on in my .config file and so is unloading and force unloading etc. Any of the insmod, depmod or modprobe don't work.
Upgraded your modutils?
Downloaded and upgraded to modutils-2.5.0 but it still does'nt work. The error is still the same.

modutils is probably not properly installed. Check the path.
did you compile and install? Did that install in /usr/local/..., after another directory which already has the old ones?
did you remove/rename the old modutils? (risky! consult docs with the newer modutils).
