Hello,
Many of the users who rant of others top posting have been guilty of worse discourtesies in the past. I remember one of the so-called 'senior' users has called someone a moron. That same user has appointed himself a custodian of netiquette.
I suspect that this ranting about top-posting is merely a pretext to keep their name appearing on the list i.e to boost their egos.
Regards Suhit Kelkar.

Have you heard of Straw Man Argument ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man
Please offer _reason(s)_ for your _suspicions_ if you have any....
I have requested folks not to top post on this mailing list and will continue to do that..., the _reason_ for that can be found at http://www.ilug-bom.org.in/pages/show/6
More specifically under the GLUG-BOM Mailing List participation Guidelines (clause 16).

'Requesting' is always accepted & appreciated. Inciting flame is not.
Dear All,
Flame wars :( serious concern and people have time to discuss on this and there are really so called "Senior Members" who initiate such things.
We all should think about bringing an end to this discussion. We're almost near to be a spammer for others.
Friends, we all understand that flame wars shouldn't be encouraged but this doesn't means we should go on for a cold war. In our case, both the side people in this war are among us. So please end this topic and get back to our main motto of this mailing list.
Regards, Aasif

?? I've quoted vivek's email.
and added your comment to his mail. A '>' denotes comment. If you look at the mail complained about, your comment has a '>' in front of it. to avoid that you should leave one clear line between the quoted mail and your reply.
Is it time to move to a Bulletin Board system? Now, don't argue the pros and cons to death, please.
