hi friends,
i would like to have a solution to this. incase u can help me out thanks a lot.
i have 10 different users on my linux server. now i want to have a common folder which everyone can access when they log into with their respective password.
i am using samba also.
thanks. anthony
One possible solution I can think of is to put all the desired users into a group, then change the group ownership of the folder to this group and then set the "sgid" bit of that folder (and also give the desired rites to the group only for security). After doing this any file created in the folder will have the group ownership of the desired group so that all the group members can have proper access to the folder once they login with their respective usernames and passwd's.
