I am using UBUNTU The problem which I face is my mouse is not detected Kindly help
Your's could be a serial mouse. You may have to do,
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
and select /dev/ttyS0 as your mouse device, and say OK for all other options.

Hi Anurag Thanks for ur reply. But dude the problem is as UBUNTU gets loaded I am stuck on the desktop with no mouse only keyboard working, is there ny shortcut keys to open the /dev folder.
No dude, there's no point in _opening_ /dev directory. You'll have to press CTRL-ALT-F1 and login with your userid and password on the console, issue dpkg-reconfigure, and restart GDM.
But even from GDM you could login and navigate through keyboard and issue dpkg-reconfigure.
