For the past couple of days I have been checking the "Account Summary" for my NU plan and noticed that my unused MBs from Nov/05 have been rolled over to the Dec/05 quota thus giving me much more than 1023MB. At first I thought it was probably an error but apparently it is not. Each time I check - the counter "Free DSL MB ..." is consistent with what it showed at the beginning of the month decremented by my non NU usage.
I was under the impression, the download quota got reset to the plan max. every month.
Are others with the NU plan getting the same deal from MTNL?

Yes. Also the account now resets automatically at midnight and 8am so no billing of free-time downloads. These guys are actually improving or what?

Wonderful! What do end users look for to verify if MTNL is resetting the link @ 0:00 and 08:00? Would appreciate if you could share it with the list. Thanks,

What about those inflated NU bills, are they waiving off their blunders or not?
Regards,
Rony.

To the best of my knowledge they are not. "Aapka download data hamara computer mein hai. Aagar apka local exchange ne investigate kiya hai to hamara bill barabar hi hoga."
Letters with corroborating evidence to the top bosses @ MTNL will likely go unheard. I have yet to hear from the DGM Internet @ Prabhadevi who is supposed to investigate and get back to me. Meanwhile, MTNL in their infinite wisdom have cut off voice service but left the TriBand on!

cool. I thought you were very 'delighted' to get your Triband connection sometime ago :)

Examine your session history at register.mtnl.net.in. I cannot verify the morning reset anymore as there is a power cut from 6 to 8 and i havent connected the proxy box to the ups. And the accounting is to 15 decimal places just incase you cribbing penny pinchers thought that MTNL was out to overbill u.

Thanks, I guessed as much after posting the query. The site is down as I am composing this message (19:04)). It is notorious for going offline, at times for extended periods. My modem is on 24x7, however the entries in my report show a lot more login sessions than the two I initiate around 00:00 and 08:00; I'll play it safe and trust cron to reboot the modem.

Yup, "Download Bytes..." reported to the 15th decimal place. Until I saw this report I was not aware that one could transfer fractions of a byte and that too up to the 15th decimal place!

Neither did I. But one never knows what one can learn from MTNL. Maybe it's some left over from dialup days when speeds approached but never reached fractions of a byte.
