Quoting Siddhesh Poyarekar:
While I can print a test page from the configuration tool, I can't print anything else, meaning no documents created or viewed in OpenOffice, or
pdfs or
pix.
How do I fix this problem?
Are you setting up openoffice to use the new printer? I think that is required.
I don't see any option like that. OpenOffice wants to use a 'generic' printer by default, because gnome can't see the attached printer, while the printer configurator can. These two parts of the total set don't seem to be sitting at the same table.
In any case, it is not just OpenOffice, I can't print at all, except the test page (from the printer set-up tool within the configurator).
