Hi, Is there any other method for text install of UBUNTU 6.10 CD? The graphical install (after booting) is tooooo slow and fails on my nx6310 laptop.

You can download the ``Ubuntu Alternate Install CD'' and run installation. It uses old debian installer based installation.

There is no other CD than DESKTOP for Ubuntu 6.10

If the live CD fails, maybe your hardware is happy with 6.06. I faced the same problem with my Acer. Also give Kubuntu a try. My family protested against gnome and got me to re-install Kubuntu after I put Edubuntu 6.06. Majority wins. :)
What are your lappy's specs?
