In embedded systems both hardware and software are very tightly coupled. Hence abstraction layers are done away with or at best very minimal. There is no room (performance, primary and secondary storage etc.) for a rudimentary file system, let alone VM and intepreted languages. You are left with the option of c or assembly. However all embedded systems have to talk to humans, usually via a PC. So perl or python is most certainly useful.
If yes which extension of perl should i learn.
