Did you get a message like the one which is given in the README file of the kernel at the end.

If yes, the use the ksymoops tool and send the bug report.

this happens when the root device of the sort (/dev/hda5) does not contain the root filesystem that is expected by the kernel. possible causes: either the partition in question is corrupt. or your kernel dosent support the filesystem in question e.g: old kernels will fail if ext3/reiser fs is used for / or something else though i can visualise the above two possibilities only:)

For their support and for lending their helping hand which helped us deliver a SUCCESSFUL workshop at BVITCOE on Friday 26th 2002. We covered the general topics on Introducing Free Software and Gnu-Linux to the Students organised by the local IEEE Chapter.
Infact the organisers later on contacted me asking for another one soon......:)). Had to desist them for a few months and asked them to let the knowledge seep in and we will come back with a BIGGER bang and more hardcore content.
