I am going live with a complete webhosting and domain name providing service. I need to know which is the best mail server for this purpose.

I have worked both with sendmail and qmail and have a few live imstallations of both. My experience tells me that you can safely go with qmail. Remember though, that qmail does not serialize mail. It sends mail on the wire as aoon as it is received. So if you need to serialize your mails, maybe postfix is a better choice- I guess it does this.

For virtual hosting in sendmail, maybe the vhost package does what you want but I am not sure. google for it.

qmail+OpenLDAP rocks for me.
