Chanced upon a rundown cybercafe at Aurangabad where some of the computers ran on linux. can't remember the flavor right now. But the chap who ran the establishment usually left the machines on. He only 'ported' the logos of Internet Explorer and MS Office onto the desktop so an unsuspecting client clicking these had Firefox or Open Office opening up! The guy told me most of the people didn't even know the difference! Those who asked were simply told that Firefox was the latest version of Internet Explorer!!!
I think a similar effort would have all the banias and small businessmen queuing up to install linux. Just install linux onto a laptop with whatever additional software required and ask the blokes to find the difference......

brillient! another wonderful way. this will specially work for those who tell me "kam hone se matlab hain." those who are only concerned with work generally are willing to install linux but are worried that things on their desktop will change and it will take a wile before they learn it. but if this idea is used, they wont even get the difference. I think this is very good. let's all except that m$ is the king of desktop and will rule it for a long long time. licensed or non licensed people use windows every where. but this idea can be the kings way himself to put the king out of market.

yes very true. and once they find no difference then tell them, this is just one thing. the other important thing is that while you don't find any difference, there actually is. you wont get virus on your systems and they will go on and on for months without crashing unlike windows which will give you problem every month or so. regards.
