Hello All,
I am so happy. :) Finally I got rid of Etch testing and installed my long awaited Kubuntu 6.10 dvd. It has more boot options than 6.06 and the dvd has a server version included. So for installing a server one has to type 'server' or 'server-expert' at boot prompt. There is an option for command line only install in the main menu itself.
Its paint program is much improvised from the earlier one that was like M$ Paint. This one has 'Krita' which has good features like photoshop or gimp. I love KDE. Long live KDE. Cheers to all the KDE guys. Keep up the good work. Multimedia audio/video is not proper as usual even after all the upgrades and codec installations. But thats normal in Linux. Open media formats play fine.
Finally, those who have always been searching for an option to boot any Ubuntu cd into a live root console only, I found the solution from the net. Simply use the option that allows you to edit the boot string and add 'single' at the end of the line and hit enter. This boots the system live into a root prompt without asking for a password. I have hunted for this in the cd menu itself but could never find it. I tried 1 and rescue but that did not help. I recollect using 'single' for Red Hat.

Thanks for the kind words, appreciate it. I think you were talking about KolorPaint or some such. Well, I won't be surprised if it still exists somewhere. Krita is ``upcoming" photo-shop like / gimp like software, is a part of the KOffice suite. Krita actually means Chalk/pencil in Swedish And was the best application winner last year at aKademy.
Cheers!
