Which make of cdrom drive. I'll hazard a guess - Samsung. In any case imo fedora is an unstable distro and should be avoided by newbies. Suggest u switch over to the PCQ debian dvd. It is extremely stable and works like a charm. Particularly if u plan to do development on GNU.
