Hello List,
In the last week, I went through a few pages on gnu.org and found the link to GNU/Linux User Group, Bombay as http://www.ilug-bom.org.in which, as informed has expired, and also does not offer redirection. I sent an email to the webmaster change it to glug-bom.org and the same has been reflected now.
I have a small suggestion for the home page, not sure whether it is really a great idea, but seems to be reasonably good to me.
An image from the Picture Gallery could be in place of the meet's summary that would randomly change each time a user visits the website / refreshes the home page.
Every month's meet summary could be put up at the same location for a few days (may be <=3 days). It will also be put up on the wiki.

Better still, why not update the home page every month and put up the latest meet schedules, etc there? The site seems to be maintained very irregularly. Lack of volunteers?

May be this is a repeat question, but I don't mind repeating the answer. The home page is updated in the section where there's an announcement about upcoming event, its venue and other details.
The other section that could be updated is the picture gallery. There haven't been too many 'clicks' in the recent GLUG-BOM meets. So, possibly, the picture gallery isn't updated.
[OT] Are you attending GLUG-BOM meet on Sunday, 18 March? I'm not sure whether I'll make it, but will try. [/OT]

True, but its not at all in sync with the wiki. We might as well restructure the wiki a bit and make it look more like a website. That way we concentrate our efforts on only one site and keep it up-to-date with little fuss.

I had planned to but something's come up at the last moment :(

put the something down and come anyway - LUG meets in Mumbai are rare events that should not be missed

I think, the wiki has shifted to some other server. Earlier Read-only access was available for directories under db.glug-bom.org, now it displays "Welcome to HBSCE"

There is no recent information about what's happening. May be, if you can make it, you'll get to know more about it, tomorrow (Sunday 18 March 2007) at GLUG-Meet.

www.ilug-bom.org.in does redirect to www.glug-bom.org . check that out and let me know if it doesnt.

Oh yes, it does redirect. I guess, when glug-bom.org is not available due to (whatever) problem, ilug-bom does *not* offer redirection (obvious).
I remember, a long time back, bluesmoon and a few others discussed that changing ilug-bom.org.in to glug-bom.org was not good because it would be difficult to change the links all over the internet and that ilug-bom.org.in did not offer redirection at that time when (they) tried to access it.
BTW, I think, glug-bom.org suits better on gnu.org than ilug-bom.org.in (???? correct ? -politically?)
seems like a good idea. we should try that out.

I think, for me, the wiki is enough. I'll post the minutes there, and the same can be reflected at the home page using a script? (may be)

i think we need to do something serious about the wiki - it still is very erratic
