I could get graphs for my route= r but was not able to get graphs for my linux box. I want graphs for my eth= ernet ports and IPSec virtual interfaces. If someone has done it on their l= inux box please guide. I know I am missing out some small thing.

/etc/mrtg.cfg p= art of your distro. If using debian
just do an "apt-get mrtg= ".
Googling will give you some reall good = docs too. You
should also look at mrtg-pme(Performance monitoring Extensions) available at freshmeat.

Take a look at munin. http://www.linpro.no/projects/munin/ Have been hooked to it for sometime now :)
