best and easiest way is to load a Knoppix cd and try it out for yourself... :)
once you get the feel for it, you can go to an institute for any specific areas that you wish to learn more... (hopefully after googling for more info)
have fun! Ananth

If you're looking for system administration training, you can learn almost everything by intalling linux at home. Some topics like raid, scsi/fibre storage, i/o drawers, tape drives, etc cannot be learnt at home. I doubt any individual/insti would train on that either. The best way would be to learn whatever you can from home and then try to get a job on a live prod server.
PS: Consider yourself lucky you want to learn linux. It can easily be installed at home. There are lots of guys out there who want to learn AIX/HP-UX which do not run on desktops. ( A second hand pseries anyone? )

Agree you can learn a lot about Linux admin on your home PC. To enhance this learning you can (if budget allows) buy a cheap older PC(s) and other hardware for networking and sw raid configs as well and keep detailed logs of your activity so you can always go back and trace what works and avoid what does not.
As for getting a job on a live prod server - be honest and ask yourself to be supervised by a senior admin otherwise you are asking for trouble.

AIX/HP-UX desktops used to be available on their respective hardware platforms. You may have better luck searching for them in the US markets.

Guys, he is looking for something like a day's workshop with a hand's on experience in linux. I am sure he is willing to pay for it and someone out there is willing to conduct it for a fee.

Rony.

Hi,
I have some training tapes for Red Hat Linux 6. If they are useful, let me know. These are from Keystone Learning Corp, USA. I will need some time too as I will need to transfer the tapes (VHS) to Video CD or some other format.
