Maybe your wvdial configuration such that it does not automatically set the correct route. Check `route -n`, when u use wvdial, and see if the external IP assigned to u shows up as the default gateway. Indeed sir. P-100z was an over-kill IMHO. I was thinking more in line of 386 & 486 machines. The motherboards of these can almost be had for free. And all I was talking about was custom compiling the kernels so that they are small and fast. More important was collecting useful software which will work on these machines. I think we should start collecting old vga/hercules/cga monitors, RAM, mainboards, peripherals etc.. 386 upwards they can be sufficiently useful. If a central place is defined, I am willing to put in time every week for this project. just musing... quasi

That was all she wanted, and she is very happy the way KDE serves her. I don't even expect her to know any of the commands, or what is `root' ;-) She has her own user, and does all her work on the RHL 7.2 machine. No hassels till now. Yes, the only hitch here is, someone needs to setup the box first, before moms and dads start using them. Since I teach software engineering, we've taken up GNU/Linux as a case study for this subject. I get the feeling it has aroused their interest in free s/w. I also wish to encourage these students to take up GNU/Linux related final-semester projects, where I hope the PRC will assist me.
