I installed linux in one sys...
but my keyboard & mouse started geting hanged
as soon as my X server starts...
so I decided to change the sys & I took out the
HDD from one sys & put into another sys

saying the kernel panic...
>you put the HDD on which GNU/Linux was installed into a different system?

I tried to boot from the rescue mode & to
configure X but I was not able to do so.
So I was trying to change the runlevel

Then I desided to change the sys & then the above
problem occurs...

Dear Linuxers,
We have Red Hat 9 Personnel Edition.
We install Custom-Everything onto the Desktops requiring DB2.
Previously we installed DB2 Version 7.1 on Red Hat Linux 7.2.
For us Installing Db2 same version onto Red Hat 9 is first time.
It installs all the components. But the last before successful completion,
it should creates a DB2 Instance. It is creating a problem there.
I'm attaching db2setup.log file for your reference.
Hoping of early reply,
Thanks for help.

I am using iptables on my system. It is very basic setup that denies all
outside connections. When an outside connection is attempted, the packet is
dropped and logged into the syslog. When I run tcpdump on the same interface,
I do see a lot of ARP requests and bootps/bootpc (UDP) requests. Why are these
attempts not logged into syslog?
Is it because ARP requests are a lower level protocol?
Another question is, when a legitimate packet is allowed and climbing the
TCP/IP stack, who (…
[View More]iptables or tcpdump) gets to see the packet first?
